de forme polylobée, reposant sur un court pied droit orné d'une frise de grecques, le couvercle à décor d'un médaillon central abritant des personnages évoluant dans un paysage planté d'arbres, pagodes et rochers, surmonté d'un cartouche avec des traces d'une inscription à six caractères, le pourtour orné de cartouches à motif végétal sur fond de rinceaux fleuris, l'intérieur et la base laqués noirs ; manque et petits accidents

Good condition overall with the exception of chips and wear inside the rims and to the black lacquer inside. There is some old red repaint around the rim (showing on the illustration in the catalogue). There is a 1.5 cm crack to the rim of the cover. There may have been a plaque originally in the cartouche on the top of the cover medallion which is now lost. There are couple of small chips to the carved figures and to some details of the design and the flower cartouche around. A few small chips and minor retouching around the bottom part as well ; a 3 x 1 cm section of lacquer is chipped near the bottom rim. The actual color is somewhat darker red than the illustration would suggest in the catalogue.
