Description

représentant un groupe d'immortels du panthéon bouddhique avec leurs attributs respectifs, dont Pindola s'appuyant sur un bâton aidé d'un autre sage sous le regard d'une chimère au premier plan, monté en rouleau

Condition

The painting is in overall good condition, with the exception of wear and pigment fading consistent with age. There are several secured creases to the silk ground (as visible on the photograph in the catalogue) ; some discoloration to the pigments, more particularly in the blue sections, and wear in the flesh colour areas (to the torso of the upper right arhat, the heads of the central figures). There are some foxed spots in the ground along the left edge and in two areas in the sky ground above the figures (as seen in the catalogue illustration). The colours are slightly more toned, less saturated than the illustration would suggest in the catalogue.
