Description

de forme ovale, représentant les dix-huit lohans se tenant dans un paysage escarpé planté de pins dominant des flots tumultueux sous des nuages stylisés, socle en bois

Provenance

Christie's London, 3rd November 2009, lot 96.

Condition

Good overall condition, a couple of nicks to the top edge of the plaque, the back with a tiny 3mm chip to the edge of one cloud, a 6,5 cm radiant crack in the stone, running from the upper edge down across the upper right branch of the pine tree, with an associated small chip to one bunch of leaves of the tree, some natural pitting and linear inclusions in the stone. The actual colour is somewhat warmer, slightly more celadon than the illustration would suggest in the catalogue.
