Relevant de la tradition Dan du masque « passeport » - réplique miniature du grand masque du lignage - cette rare masquette rappelle les liens étroits tissés entre les Maou (d'origine Malinké) et leurs voisins méridionaux. Miniature du grand masque du Koma - chargé de lutter contre les esprits malfaisants qui hantent la brousse - il en reproduit à la fois l'iconographie (visage humain prolongé par un long bec bifide) et la très caractéristique épaisse patine croûteuse.
