Very good condition overall; wear consistent with age and use within the culture. Fine painted motifs to the top of the club with some light encrustation. Fine patina overall with a few scratches towards the bottom of the club.

Catalogue Note
Sculptée à l'outil de pierre, cette ancienne massue tiwi, dite "sword club" se distingue par l'élégance des motifs linéaires blancs et ocre rouge ornant la pale - alternant fines diagonales et bandes transversales. cf. Dussart (1993 : 11) pour une photographie de Karel Kupka prise en 1956, tenant une massue très comparable.
