Condition

The canvas is not lined. This work is in good overall condition. A close inspection reveals a network of thin stable craquelures, mostly in the areas of thickest impasto in the background, and a few associated spots of paint-loss. There is a small cluster of fly spots on the figure's neck. Examination under UV light reveals some small scattered spots of retouching in the back ground and another one towards the centre of the figure's body. The figure's face remains almost entirely unaffected.
