Cette table provient d'un ensemble de meubles conçu pour une salle à manger à Paris en 1933. Il comprenait outre cette table, une longue enfilade laquée, les portes en métal oxydé, deux petits meubles étagères également laqués et une suite de sièges. Ces derniers sont vendus sous le n. 153.

Il est probable que ces meubles aient été laqués dans les ateliers de Jean Dunand, avec qui Eugène Printz collaborait pour la réalisations de panneaux en dinanderies mais aussi pour laquer certaines de ses créations.  

This dining table formed part of a larger dining suite created for an apartment in Paris circa 1933. The set also included a long  lacquered sideboard with oxidized doors, a pair of shelves and a set of chairs and armchairs, sold in the following lot. It is probable that the set was lacquered at Jean Dunand's workshop, since Printz worked closely with him, for both the dinanderie and lacquer work on his creations.

Very good overall condition. The lacquer is chinese lacquer, that has been varnished. Slight loss of lacquer to two corners at the fixed top ; two traces of circular heat to one edge. Very minor scratching all over the surface and traces of bubble wraping paper. Minor bruises on the edges, and minor dents on top. The large extension : minor bruises on the edges. A few minor scratches and cracks at one corner on approximatively 20 cm. Tiny retouching along one long edge. A few minor lacks of lacquer to the large edge. Minor scratches and a few minor dents spreaded all over the surface . A small area towards one short side where the lacquer is dull. Extension number 3 : Very minor and thin craquelures along the edges and the top. Four cracks alon one corner every 10 cm on approximatively 4 cm each, and another further down on the short side near opposite corner on approximatively 3 cm. Extension marked 2 : General thin craquelures on top. One tiny restoration to one long edge and one on the top, neear the center, each of approximatively 0.5 cm. Two minor cracks at two corners. Two painted extensions : numbered 5 and 4. Some wear to edges where black has worn away, a few scratches and dents commensurate with age.
