" J'avais depuis longtemps le projet de collaborer avec l'industrie mais une opportunité dans ce domaine ne se présente pas facilement. Ce qui m'intéressait surtout c'était dans le fond ma confrontation avec un système de production qui a toujours été un peu le paysage que j'ai cherché à rendre puisqu'un des buts sur un plan plus explicatif qu'esthétique, si l'on peut dire, de mon oeuvre, a toujours été production - consommation - destruction. La "production" se trouve presque être le mot clef de mon travail : il était évident que la rencontre avec une grande entreprise industrielle serait fructueuse pour moi"( Arman, cité in Renault La Collection d'Art, 2009, p. 198).
