Condition

The colors are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration, although the overall tonality is lighter in the original. The work is on its original canvas. There are some craquelures throughout. Some wear to the canvas is visible, especially at the upper and right edges, probably due to a previous framing. There are 3 paintlosses visible: at the upper right and left corners, at the centre of the lower edge. Under UV light, there is a thin line of retouching along a stretcher mark at the centre of teh composition and 15 cm from the bottom.

Catalogue Note

signed and dated; titled on the back; oil on canvas. Executed in December 1952.
