Catalogue Note
George Friederich Pomeau (Pomo), born ca 1770, became a master silversmith in St Petersburg in 1797. His maker's mark was POMO. He was trained at his father's workshop. His father, Herman Friederich Pomeau, who became a master silversmith in Saint Petersburg in 1770, had two maker's marks: HFP and POMO. The latter worked untill 1789. Father and son were members of the foreigners' Guild and George Friederich, the son, even became an officer of the foreigners' Guild in 1811.
