Description

painted in the etruscan style with red figures and trophies against a black ground, comprising: an oblong tray, 36.3 cm. wide, with label 3, inscribed 22 and No. 55.A.; a teapot and cover; a cream jug; a sugar bowl and cover, with label 4, inscribed 17 and No. 53.A; two cups and saucers, one saucer with label 4, inscribed 17 or 22 and No. 53.A; some wear and minor damages (10)

Condition

Overall with some wear to the black ground and red enamels. Some trophies with firing irregularities to the black outlines. The tray with some more wear to the black and red enamels. The teapot with a restuck fragment to the spout and a related rim chip, two glaze flakes to the seated man. The cover with restuck finial. The sugar bowl with some more wear along the upper border. One cup with a hairline star-crack to the underside of the base.
