Description

from the border of a large pavement, depicting in multicolored tesserae over a black ground the bust of a child and the forequarters of a wolf or bear within scrolling acanthus leaves.

Condition

Tesserae embedded in slab of cement with grout showing in places where stones are missing or or have detoeriorated, some of the areas with figural elements, such as the face of the boy, might have been restored using ancient tesserae; now mounted in a wood frame.
