the watercolor with two addorsed lions flanking the Egyptian unification symbol and two columns of hieroglyphs, signed Carter 1899  lower right, in gilt wood frame, 29 x 10 1/4 in., 73.7 x 26 cm. unframed; the book with chapters by F.LL. Griffith, G.Legrain, G. Moeller,  P.E. Newberry, and W. Spiegelberg,  100 text pp. (including index) with 79 pls. and frontispiece, Oxford University Press, 1912, a presentation copy inscribed for Sir H.P. Robinson from Carnarvon, with ink inscription including a line drawing of the prenomen of Tutankhamun.

Condition

The book good, the dust jacket torn and fragmentary. The watercolor glued down between matte and backboard, front margins with glue and skinned spots, laid down; image with a small stain above right hand lion, slight foxing
