- An Egyptian Polychrome Cartonnage Mummy Wrapping
- Linen and gesso
- 23 by 17 3/4 in. 58.4 by 45.1 cm.
finely painted in two registers within a richly decorated and inscribed shrine, the upper register with a man, most probably a priest at Hermopolis Magna, kneeling before a sacred ibis, above the scene a winged sun-disk with vulture leg holding an ostrich plume fan and the motto "all life and dominion," a winged scarab holding aloft the sun-disk in the lower register, an inscription accompanying the kneeling figure translating "Venerable ibis who gives life".

Condition
As shown; much of the painting missing; what remains has damages but has evidently not been retouched or restored. It is extremely fragile, unmounted, and probably needs serious conservation work to display properly.
