- Bronze and basalt
- Heights 4 1/8 and 5 in. (without crown) 10.5 and 12.7 cm.
the Apis Bull recumbent atop a papyrus capital finial, and wearing traces of a finely engraved collar, winged scrarab, and saddle-cloth, the front of the head and the sun-disk with menat apparently largely restored, papyrus plants engraved on either side of the support; the baboon seated with its fragmentary forepaws extended before him, the ancient bronze sun-disk and horns probably added in modern times.

Harold Eliot Leeds (1913-2002), New York, founder of the graduate program of Interior Design at Pratt Institute, and Wheaton Galentine (1914-2011), thought to have been acquired in the 1950's/1960s

Condition
Both as shown and described in the catalogue. The base under the bull fragmentary at the back and front, two spots of bronze disease. The baboon fragmentary as shown, chips and abrasions especially in back, mouth area probably recut somewhat, hole for the crown appears to be modern or enlarged.
