- A Roman Bronze Roundel with Relief bust of Dionysos

- Diameter 4 3/4 in. 12.1 cm.
the god wearing a goat skin falling from his left shoulder, his face with parted lips, straight nose, and eyes with incised irises and recessed pupils, his hair parted in the center, and bound in a diadem and wreath of ivy and vine, a cluster of grapes hanging over each ear, loose curls escaping over the shoulders, the disk with four circular holes for attachment against the raised and molded border, remains of an iron pin on the back.

Condition
Generally good; there seems to be a small area of fill on the proper right side of the neck and hair just below the bunch of grapes. The surface is rubbed smooth in places, and very abraded and worn down on the upper part of the wreath; tip of nose and lips somewhat worn down too.
