after a Greek work by Polykleitos of the mid 5th Century B.C., standing with the weight on his right leg, the body turned slightly to his left.

Carlos Belzor Humberto Navarro Ocampo (1911-1974), San Isidro, Argentina, acquired in Rome in 1948
by descent to the present owner

Condition

Fragmentary as shown, large chunk missing from proper right shoulder extends down the back into area of proper right shoulder blade, otherwise back in much the same condition as front, two gashes across proper left shoulder, nicks and scratches overall, entire surface has been vigorously cleaned mechanically and covered in some kind of varnish or oily substance which has turned brownish over time.
