  • Watercolour sketch (illustrated), sheet size:15.5 by 17cm, 6 by 6 ¾ in.; Saint Petersbourg d'antan (illustrated): 29.6 by 22.7cm, 11 ¾ by 9 in.; smallest vignette: 5 by 6.5cm, 2 by 2 ½ in.

Condition

The two sketches for Les Souffrances du Jeune Werther are glued to sheets at the corners. The sheets have discoloured and there is a layer of surface dirt. The sheet of Saint Petersbourg d'antan has discoloured, there are smudges and handling marks and a light media stain at the left edge. The three smaller vignettes have been laid down on card. All the vignettes have a layer of light surface dirt and are discoloured. Unframed.
