two signed with initials and dated l.r.; all variously inscribed in Latin
watercolour and ink over pencil on paper, one with gouache
- 47.2 by 63.2cm, 18 1/2 by 24 3/4 in.; 25 by 37.2cm, 9 3/4 by 14 1/2 in.; 23.3 by 37cm, 9 by 14 1/2 in.
Condition
Bohème: The l.l corner and a large area of the t.r corner are missing.There are pinholes to the l.r. and t.l. corners. There are several small tears to the left hand and bottom edge of the sheet, and a larger tear to the top edge which has been fixed with adhesive to the reverse. The paper has discoloured slightly. Unframed.Sadko: There are some very tiny losses to the watercolour surface. Otherwise in overall good condition. Held within a cardboard mount. Set Design: The edges of all four corners are missing. The bottom and top edges both have an area missing to a depth of approx 2cm depth at bottom and approx. 3cm depth at top where the two sheets are joined together. There are small tears along all four edges. There is a tear to the right hand edge measuring approx.15.5cm which has been repaired with adhesive at reverse. There is a tear of approx. 7.5cm branching off to the l.h. piece of paper from the join between the two sheets which has also been repaired at reverse. There are visible handling creases throughout.There is a crease mark running the full length of the right hand side. Unframed.
