Condition

There is a small 2cm loss to the lower hand corner and a small pin hole to this corner. There are some slight creases in places. The colours are strong. Held in a dark painted wooden frame and under glass.

Catalogue Note

Ida Rubenstein's company premiered Amphion on 23 June 1931 at the Opéra de Paris. The present design is thought to be for Act I, in which Amphion, the son of Zeus and Antiope, is woken by Apollo who presents him with a lyre.
