- signed with initials AW, l.l.; stamped with artist's studio stamp and the handwritten number A1147 within it on the backing; signed Andrew, inscribed For Mrs. Betts wtih warmest wishes and dated 1949 on an old label in a mylar envelope within the back matter

Condition
in good condition; a 1/2 in. margin of old glue remnants along all the extreme edges of work--strokes of ink from the image extend onto these edges, leading one to assume that this margin was present when the work was being executed. An inscription on the backing reads as follows: "no- D - 35 "Ledge on Hooper's Island'" --not clear that this is the artist's hand
