Condition
Overall very good original condition. This piece was part of an interior of furniture that was originally commissioned from Paul Evans and Phillip Powell. The wooden edge of the table showing two areas of minor abrasions, which appear lighted in color, and are visible in the catalogue illustration. The slate top remains in good condition, with some areas of scratches and abrasions. There are some minor scattered discolorations to the top, but the slate maintains its original condition, and shows gentle wear. The metal base elements with applied gilt finish that has rubbed lightly. It was not the intention of the designers at the time of production to completely gilt the base. Therefore the base likely remains in a condition similar to when the work was completed. This is stunning design in person, in which the top seemingly floats over the intricate handmade base.
