Condition
Overall excellent condition. When viewed under blacklight there are no apparent areas of prior restoration. The gilt coloration is vivid and with deep saturation. With a craquelure glaze and possible incised decoration covering the surface of the work, which is more distinct in person than it appears in the catalogue illustration. With some light rubbing and dullness to the glazed surface, likely from use. With modern display stand. A rare early work by Besnard showing clear references to works by Ruhlmann and other French Art Deco designers of the time.
