Condition

Overall excellent original condition. The top surface is most likely formica laid down on wood. The top surface shows normal wear with a series of dot-like losses circumventing the ash receptacle as seen in the catalogue photograph. Otherwise there is faint craquelure and extremely mild rubbing to the finish. The removable ash receptacle is possibly aluminum and extends the depth of the entire piece. The chromium-plated supports and base trim are in excellent shape with only minor wear. The base plate is either formica or bakelite and shows normal wear with minor abrasions to the finish throughout. The four feet are either bakelite or formica and are stable. An outstanding example of Von Nessen's work never before seen on the auction market.
