Condition

Overall in very good condition. Following its purchase at Christie's London in 2003, the chair was sensitively re-upholstered with appropriate period leather. The upholstery with some surface dirt, rubbing, and approximately 12 abrasions to the leather. These are scattered throughout the chair, and the largest measures four inches the central lower portion of the reverse of the backrest. Each abrade the surface of the leather, but do not perforate the entire leather surface. The underside of the chair seat and arms with concentrated liquid surface dirt, which appears removable. The chromium-plated metal frame with minor surface dirt, rubbing, and scratches. One of the arm frames shows a textured surface to the chrome, which does not appear original, and overall shows duller in appearance. Surface dirt throughout. Retains original hardware. The chair sits presently slightly uneven, which appears the natural result of age and use.
