Condition
Overall in excellent original condition. The present chairs are the first exploration of a model which later was referred to as the “Evans” chairs, named after the original owners of this set. The walnut frames with some light surface scratches, minor sun fading. The leather seats with crazing to each, some of which comprise the entire seat surface. Please see the catalogue illustration in which one of the chairs to the right of the photo shows this crazing. A unique opportunity to acquire the original set of chairs that lead to one of Maloof’s most famous dining chair models. The chairs display an incredible sculptural quality in the articulation of the back and legs.
