- Wall Sculpture
patinated and painted metal
Provenance
Private Collection, New York
Acquired from the above by the present owner
Condition
Overall in very good condition. The piece appears to have undergone some light restoration at some point in its history. There are four main elements to the sculpture. Several of the triangular slices of metal have been moved around, when compared to the original photo of the piece when it was exhibited at the America House. Minor surface dirt. There is a green glass element to the central lower portion of the sculpture, adjacent to the vertically oriented gold rectangle element, which was accidentally left out of the catalogue illustration. Please contact the department for photographs of the sculpture installed in the gallery, showing this element in place. The glass element with a minor edge fleck. The construction elements of this piece remain visible (welds etc) which is part of the design aesthetic. Presently sold without hanging hardware. There is a recently executed schematic drawing and a copy of the America House photograph being sold with this piece, which show the original installation.
