Condition

Overall in excellent condition. This is a magnificent table, showing beautifully detailed figuring of the monumental book-matched board comprising the table top. This table is spectacular in person, with a richly colored walnut accentuated with rosewood keys. With some minor surface scratches to the top from use and some light surface scratches to the top surfaces of the base. Otherwise the table remains in impeccable condition. This is a masterwork by Nakashima in both the wood selection and its size. The table comfortably sits 14 and could accommodate more, as seen in the catalogue illustration. Either used as a dining table or a conference table, this is a statement work, which presents stunningly in person. Please visit Sothebys.com or contact the department for further images of this monumental table.
