Condition

Original canvas. There is some very minor craquelure to the figure's coat and floats, which is visible upon close inspection. There is some minor frame abrasion about the edges and some light paint separation in one or two isolated spots in the lower quadrants; otherwise the work appears in good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals an opaque uneven varnish which makes the reading difficult to interpret. Held in a black painted and gilt plaster frame.
