Condition

The following condition report was kindly provided by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.: This painting is in very fresh condition. The canvas is unlined and although the cracking is slightly visible in the sky, the paint layer is stable. Under ultraviolet light the chin and neck of the woman read quite darkly, but I am reluctant to suggest that this is restoration. It seems equally as likely to be an original correction by the artist. Similar dark marks are visible around the perimeter of the jug in the lower left. To this eye, it seems that there are no retouches and the painting should be hung as is.
