Condition
Pile generally very good, near original 1/8th of an inch overall. With dark brown outlines oxidized slightly lower. Dark browns in boots and beard oxidized to knotheads and spot foundation. Small scattered spot stains. A few warp ties peeking through in areas. Scattered mottling in the field where there are slight rose colored tinges possibly due to over-tinting. Remnants of original purple silk selvages, now faded and with losses, sides generally intact. Missing dark brown outer end guard stripe, ends now secured. Minor scattered moth damage. Highly lustrous wool, sound fabric, in good overall condition.
