Condition

Pile ranges from near original 1/5 inch to low to knotheads in areas of foldwear in field, some minor spot foundation showing at lower end of field; dark browns oxidized to knotheads; scattered repiling in red field; some repiling in medallion as well. Remnants of original 4 cord red wool selvages, now mostly restored. Upper end with 1-1/2 inch red kilim end finish---small losses and fraying. Lower left corner rewoven, 12 x 3 tapering down to-1/2 inch; missing 2-3 rows of knots in outer end guard border, now secured with chainstitch. Very supple handle, lustrous wool, luminous color.
