surmounted by a brèche d'alep marble top, fitted with two long drawers, the interior of the top drawer bearing two white ivorine labels, the first inscribed THIS PIECE OF FURNITURE / WAS USED AT THE/ CORONATION CEREMONY / IN WESTMINSTER ABBEY / 9TH AUGUST 1902, the other inscribed HAMPTON & SONS / PALL MALL EAST / LONDON.

Condition
Overall in good condition and presentation. The gilt-bronze have retained their original gilding and there are few areas of tarnishing visible. The marble top with the light usual scratches consistent with age and use. Minor chips to marble edges. Minor chips to veneers at drawer edges. The front supports with few worm damages visible. There is an important vertical crack of approximately 11 inches long to the left hand side.
