the front painted with a pastoral cartouche, the back with a lake view. Bronze mounts extensively corroded and with vert de gris.

Condition

The gilt bronze extensively tarnished and dirty. One can notice in the catalog illustration that the scroll foliate gilt bronze rim is extensively oxidized as a result of corrosion due to humidity. This rim will need to be cleaned and re-gilded for better presentation. The inside of the bowl painted with floral bouquets and garlands now faded, the cream ground showing extensive craquelure filled with dirt to the glazed surface. Bronze mounts extensively corroded and with vert de gris.
