surmounted by a clock, the face with blue and white enamelled roman numerals set within an elaborately embossed gilt metal dial, the cartonnier fitted with seven gilt-tooled brown leather compartments opening to green satin-lined interiors and filigree bandings, the carcass stamped three times FG.

Overall in good condition. The usual tarnishing to gilt bronze which is consistent to age. There are cracks to the carcasse which go through the veneers on both sides of the cartonnier due to carcass shrinkage. All leather bound boxes are original. Each face darker than the interior faces, consistent with oxidation and sun damage. Some ware to their gilt tooling and surface scratches. The clock has two minute holes on either side of the fluted finial, indicating the loss of applied decoration. The enamel cabochon with hairline cracks to number one, six, seven and eight.
