the marble column mounted with fruiting swags of pears, apples, grapes and pomegranates.  Square marble top lacking.

Condition

Impressive and rare pedestal. The pedestal is unusually high and applied with very fine gilt-bronze mounts representing pomegranates and other fruits. As visible in the catalogue illustration the gilt- bronze is now highly tarnished, the fruiting gilt-bronze mounts have retained their gold, they are now tarnished and can be professionally cleaned with an non-acidic bath. The square-mount top of the pedestal is now lacking.
