Condition
The canvas has been strip-lined along the four tacking edges. Apart from scattered spots of retouching visible under ultraviolet light, notably to her cheek, the top of her head (over an approx 2cm repaired tear patched on the reverse), and in the background in the upper-left quadrant, some hairline craquelure in the black pigments of her veil, and a stretcher mark parallel to the upper edge, this work is in good overall condition, and is ready to hang. Held in a decorative gold-painted 19th century-style frame.
