Condition
On cradled panel in good and stable condition. There is some retouching visible under ultraviolet light, notably in a 5cm stroke in the sky parallel to the right edge, very thin strokes in the sky addressing craquelure, in the sea to the right of the distant figure, and along the extreme edges addressing frame rubbing. Apart from some hairline craquelure, notably in the sky, and a 3cm hairline vertical crack below the signature, the work is in overall good condition, with strong impasto.
