Condition

The canvas has been strip-lined along the tacking edges. Apart from some scattered strokes of retouching visible under ultraviolet light, notably in the sky, in the hill below the horizon at the far right, and in the water behind the camels, and several minor punctures in the upper left corner (visible in the catalogue illustration), the work is in good overall condition.
