Condition

The canvas has been relined. Apart from some scattered spots and strokes of retouching visible under ultraviolet light, notably to a 15 by 15cm cross-shaped repaired tear in the sky above the closer tent, a 4cm stroke below the far tent, and a few scattered spots in the sky, the overall appearance of the work is good, clean, and ready to hang. Held in an elaborate gold-painted wood and plaster frame.
