Catalogue Note

In this sweeping view of the waterfront at Marina Grande, Capri's main harbour, del Campo captures the everyday life of what was then a bustling fishing port and the centre of the island's economy. In the middle distance rises the Monte Tiberio and beyond, across the calm blue waters of the Bay of Naples, the mountainous coast of the mainland.
