This painting is unlined. The surface is clean and smooth with very fine craquellure contained to an area in the sky around the flag pole at the upper left. Under UV, three large areas of inpainting are revealed in the sky, and in dots around the perimeter due to frame abrasion, as well as through minor reinforcements to the figures in the foreground.
