Overall in good condition and presentation. As visible in the catalogue illustration, there is pitting and scratching to the gilt bronze bell, and light scratches to the figure.

This interesting group known as Les Fondeurs du Moyen-age was reputedly exhibited at the Exposition Universelle de Paris in 1900. An example is illustrated in Dahhan, P., Etains 1900, 200 sculptures de la Belle Époque, Paris, 2000, p. 22. Other examples were sold at Christie's Paris, December 16, 2009, lot 313 and Christie's New York, April 20, 2010, lot 55
