Description

  • porcelain
  • height of vase 25 in.
  • 63.5 cm
finely painted with a pink-flowering rose plant against a chocolate brown ground, mounted on a wooden circular footed stand, impressed K.P.M beneath sceptre mark.

Condition

The vase has been modelled in two parts: the baluster-shaped body and a circular foot in a gilt-metal mount. Both the vase and the foot bear KPM marks and were pierced at the time of manufacture to accept a bolt for mounting to a stand. The present wooden footed stand is probably a replacement for the original. There is a 1-in. well-restored chip to the rim issuing an approximate 3-in. stabilised fine haircrack running down the neck at one side. Otherwise, generally good condition.
