each painted on one side with figures in a landscape and on the other with a floral spray, applied with cherubs, flowers, fruit and insects and affixed on either side with a foliate handle, cancelled crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue.
Condition
Typical chips, losses and minor restoration to the applied flowers and leaves overall. One vase is in generally good condition apart from some restoration to the putto at the foot. The other vase has a long restored crack running down the entire side from the rim behind one handle; both feet of the putto at the base are restored; the arm of the other putto is restored. Both stands have heavily restored cracks and/or breaks and extensive restoration to the applied flowers. All the restoration is very well done. Please note that one vase is painted with birds on the reverse (as opposed to a flower spray); one stand has a landscape vignette and flower sprays, the other has only flower sprays and is prbabaly matched.
