There is wear to the surface probably caused by weathering. There is some resulting loss giving it a pitted surface. There are some traces of red paint to the surface. Two fingers of the proper right hand may have been reattached.

Marcel Bouraine is best-known for his small-scale art deco statuettes. An over-life-size terracotta, such as the present model, is an rare exception in his oeuvre. However, the large-scale figure retains all the grace and poise typical of the artist's work.
