2 volumes, comprising: (a) Book of Hours, Use of Rome, 246 leaves, wanting central bifolium from 11th gathering, else complete, paginated in error (missing 330-39) but followed here, 94mm. by 61mm., collation i12, ii-x10, xi8 (wanting central bifolium), xii10, xiii-xiv8, xv-xxv10, single column, 11 lines, five large initials in blue, pink and green on burnished gold grounds with foliage and bezants in margin (pp.69, 94, 166, 188, 212), four historiated initials (5-lines) as before with full borders of flowers and fruit (p.25, Virgin and Child above erased arms; p.256, Christ on the Cross; p.273, King David; p.363, a skull), slight rubbing and discolouration to initials, else good, vellum over pasteboards, gilt edges, Italy (perhaps Siena: St. Ansanus in red in Calendar), c.1500; (b) Book of Hours, Use of Paris, 104 leaves, paginated in modern pencil, 140mm. by 100mm., leaves missing after pp.32, 42, 54, 72, 76, 78, 82, 90, 96, 118 (perhaps miniatures), single column, 20 lines, one 2-line historiated initial (p.25; rubbed) with three-quarter border enclosing a human-headed drollery with a large nose, two three-quarter page miniatures with borders on 3 sides enclosing other drolleries (p.123: Pentecost; p.128: Job in dung heap), small areas of flaking and rubbing, else good, nineteenth-century gilt-tooled red morocco over pasteboards, silk doublures, northern France (probably Rouen), c.1475
