Condition

STRUCTURE The sheet is sound and slightly cockled. It has not been laid down but attached to the reverse of the mount with adhesive tape across the upper left and right corners and to the centre of the upper edge. There are two pin-size holes, one near the centre of the left edge and one near the right hand side of the lower edge. There is a small surface abrasion in the lower left corner and two small, sensitively repaired tears near the centre of the lower edge. There are a few small spots of retouching to the white draperies beneath the cental figure. Otherwise the work appears in good overall condition with strong colours throughout. FRAME Held in a gilt plaster frame with a white mount under glass, clean and ready to hang. Please contact the department on 0207 293 5718 if you have any questions about the present work.
