Condition

STUCTURE Original canvas. There are three small wax repairs to the reverse. There are stretcher bar marks along the top edge, and along the central stretcher bar. There are a few areas of fine craquelure, mainly to the sky. There are two small spots of paint loss to the boat on the extreme left. The work may benefit from a light clean but is in otherwise good overall condition. ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT UV reveals scattered flecked retouchings throughout and some sweeping areas of retouching in the sky. FRAME Held in a gilt and painted plaster frame.
