  • aquatinte au sucre, grattoir, pointe-sèche et burin, superbe épreuve avant l'aciérage de la planche, selon Baer le tirage de cet état avant l'aciérage de la planche n'aurait été que de huit exemplaires (il y a également eu un édition de 47 exemplaires après l'aciérage ainsi que l'edition du livre de 1942), sur vergé de Montval.

Condition

With margins, a deckle edge below, minor handling creases in lower part of the image including intersecting diagonal creases in the lower right margin and just inside the plate edge, some additional small handling creases throughout, some inconspicuous surface soiling at the edges of the sheet, otherwise in good condition

aquatint with drypoint, 1936, a fine impression before steelfacing, Baer records only eight impressions printed before the plate was steelfaced (there was also an edition of 47 after steelfacing and a book edition published in 1942), on Montval laid paper.
